After viewing this video of Ciara discussing Michael Jackson during a press conference at the BET AWARDS, what Michael Jackson meant to her and her memory of Michael, I believe her words stated what we all feel.. “We may not have met him, but truly he means “that much”. He inspired so many of us to dream, and he was music, he was entertainment. He represents the peak of where all artists strive to be.
I’m sure we were all surprised when Mase stopped his rap career and wanted to be a minister, what a distinct contrast. We dubbed it temporary and some of us laughed and mocked. Then he came back into the music game and we were like, he confused as to what he wants to do, he should make up his mind. But listening to him talk and explain his journey and his reasons for his choices, I feel he is truly sincere in his path to be a messenger for Christ, and as with all of us, we are not perfect, and we will sometimes fail or slip, but the goal is to get back on that right path. So in my opinion, why should Mase have to choose?? His return to music,to Hip-Hop, I believe could be a good thing. Nothing wrong with positive music and being an example in different arenas, especially in an arena Mase once called home and was very successful in. The point of being a messenger for Christ is to spread his message, especially to those who may be deemed the most distant from it. If doing what enabled Mase to gain such a strong following in the first place, and it now can be utilized to spread a different message, then I say GO FOR IT! He is currently featured on the latest remix of Drake’s “Best I Ever Had”.. [Download & Video Below] Wait, there’s more…
All I have to say is, this movie is definitely on my must-see list. Two of the funniest men in comedy pairing up to portray two classic characters they have both created “Sheneneh & Wanda”..HILARIOUS. At first I thought it was just a skit created for the BET AWARDS, but to be an actual movie coming soon, YES, I love it. Check trailer below:
OK, well I’m sure we all watched last night The BET AWARDS. Especially this year due to the recent death of our King. With all the pre-excitement of the big Michael Jackson tribute, and the rumors of Chris Brown, Usher, Beyonce being apart of it, I personally was so looking forward to this year’s show. Now of course I completely understand and accept the fact that BET was under alot of pressure to change things around in the past couple of days, but unfortunately last night ‘s end result was extremely disappointing and unfortunate.
First the show appeared extremely unorganized and all over the place from beginning to end. The “tributes” that were done, I felt BET could have done more. The story on Chris Brown was that the key sponsor for the Awards Cover Girl nixed that, and of course advertising dollars speak the loudest. I’m sorry that BET did not deliver the tribute or the show I had hoped, we all had hoped they would. This was the biggest viewership they received from any previous awards show, even CNN was covering it, but I was not happy with what we saw.
Let’s start with what was GOOD:
Neyo’s solo performance of Michael’s song “The Lady In My Life”.. beautifully done.[video below] Wait, there’s more…
We all saw a sneak peek of Tiny & Toya new reality show on BET.. What were your thoughts?? Very sad situation with Toya’s mom being in the streets and on crack, and Tiny’s dad suffering from Alzheimer’s, but is this enough for us to tune in and watch this new reality show? [check video below]
TINY AND TOYA premieres Tuesday, June 30 at 10 PM/9C.
TINY AND TOYA is BET’s provocative, new half-hour docu-drama chronicling the lives of Tameka “Tiny” Cottle and Antonia “Toya” Carter – two dynamic, young women immersed in the craziness of the hip-hop world, but striving to find inner-strength, peace and purpose. On the surface, their real-life story plays out like an urban fairytale – both women falling in love with two of hip hop’s most successful princes (T.I. and Lil’ Wayne) and living the life of the rich and famous.
The BET Awards airing tomorrow night is giving us some behind the scenes photos of what goes on during preparation. There’s also rumors that Chris Brown, Usher, Beyonce, just to name a few, will be part of the Michael Jackson tribute they are putting together. I say only the baddest could honor The Best.. Check Out behind the scene pics below:
This seems to be the topic of discussion, especially recently with Tameka Foster, ex wife of Usher Raymond. She even takes time to beef on Twitter with V-103′s Elle Duncan, because Elle made a joke about using “RAYMOND”…even though she’s not married to Usher either…[see clip below] Share and Enjoy:
